More balance in everyday life: 5 simple wellbeing routines for female founders
Small habits, big impact – for more focus, energy and ease
Being self-employed means freedom—but sometimes it also means wanting everything at once and not really being able to enjoy anything. Between client appointments, to-do lists, and creative ideas, we often forget the most important thing: ourselves.
Especially when you work with passion, self-care isn't a luxury, but essential for sustainable success. In this blog post, I'll show you five simple wellbeing routines that you can integrate directly into your daily routine – with little effort, but with noticeable results.
1. Start with a mindful morning ritual
Your morning determines how you move through the day. Instead of immediately reaching for your phone, give yourself 10 mindful minutes.
➡️ A short breathing exercise, some gentle yoga or stretching exercises, a glass of warm water with lemon – whatever feels good.
This time belongs only to you. It grounds, strengthens, and focuses you before you return to your daily routine.
2. Work in clear time slots – with real breaks
As self-employed people, we often work "in between." Structure helps you stay focused.
➡️ Set clear work blocks (e.g., 60-90 minutes) and actively plan breaks. Even 10 minutes of fresh air or a cup of delicious tea with a view out the window works wonders.
3. Eat consciously – and plant-based
Nutrition not only affects your health, but also your mood and concentration.
➡️ Meal prep with simple plant-based recipes (e.g. bowls, soups or energy balls) saves time and strengthens body and mind.
Important: Take your time to eat and shop – planning is everything and eating slowly aids digestion.
4. Digital Detox light – conscious offline times
As an entrepreneur, you spend a lot of time online – but your nervous system needs regular rest.
➡️ Set specific times when you won't be available (e.g., after 8 p.m. or on Sunday mornings). Your mind will thank you. And: Creativity often develops offline. Instead, grab a pen and paper to jot down thoughts and ideas.
5. Mini rituals for the transition
The transition from work to leisure is often difficult when everything happens at the same desk.
➡️ A short meditation, a walk, journaling or lighting a scented candle at the end of the day will help you to switch off mentally.
This way you can really enjoy your free time – without feeling guilty.
Conclusion: Small routines, big impact
You don't have to live perfectly every day—it's about taking small, conscious steps that reconnect you with yourself. I've developed these routines over many years, tested them, and adapted them to my needs—and you can, too.
